Vietnam had a program to develop growing land of cashew in Cambodia and Laos and they are trying to increase the supply of raw cashew from neighboring countries to meet the demands of development of the local processing industry.

The global cashew market was valued at a whopping $4.69 billion according to the International Nut & Dried Fruit Council. Côte d’Ivoire’s cashews production reached a record 625,000 tons. Next year, the country wishes to produce 700,000 tons.
Benin officially known as the Republic of Benin is a country in West Africa and it is bordered by Togo to the west, Nigeria to the east, and Burkina Faso and Niger to the north. Benin has more than two decades of experience in cashew nut exports and it is the major agricultural commodity export from Benin. It has about 8% to national export income and 28% of total agricultural exports. It has a production of about 120,000 tons and of over 200,000 hectares cultivated and the studies says that Benin cashew sector has therefore great potential for development, in order to make a significant contribution in achieving the country’s economic, environmental and social goals.
