Kawasaki ER 6n 650 Review
Kawasaki ER 6n is a powerful upcoming sports bike from Kawasaki to India. The much popular Ninja 650 was launched in India few years ago. A perfectly made naked sibling of Ninja 650 is the Kawasaki ER 6n. The bike also known as Ninja moniker.
Looks and Style
Kawasaki ER 6n is a performance oriented street naked motorcycle for long touring. It gets new double-pipe perimeter-style frame, new headlamps, taller fuel tank and split seats with a big grab rail for aggressive looks.
Dimensions and Rivals
Hyosung GT650R and Hyosung GT650N are the main rival of this bike. In terms of dimensions, Kawasaki ER 6n measures 2110.00 mm length, 770.00 mm Width, 1110.00 mm Height. There is a wider 1410.00 mm Wheelbase. It gets a big fuel tank capacity of 16.00 litres for long touring. 130.00 mm is the ground Clarence.
There is a revised instrument cluster in this bike, which contains analog tachometer with white LED back lights, multi-function LCD for the easiness of rider. Special indicators fitted in this cluster are, economical riding indicator, distance to empty and instant fuel consumption.
This is a striped down, street bike version of the Kawasaki Ninja 650 sports-tourer bike. The bike offered with fuel tank extensions, stubby headlight and exposed radiator in this model. There is also an option for improving riding posture to offer comfortable riding.
Engine, Gears and Performance
Kawasaki ER 6n packed with a powerful 649cc parallel twin liquid cooled engine. It can generates 72bhp at 8500 rpm and peak torque of 64 Nm at 7000 rpm on ride. Engine mated to a six-speed gearbox and features chain drive.
Price and Launch date
Kawasaki ER-6n may be displayed in showrooms Pune and Delhi prior to launch to get consumer reaction. It is expected to be priced approx Rs. 4,10,000 – 5,60,000 and launch may happen around 2014 end.
Brakes and Suspension :Safety and Comfort
Kawasaki ER 6n packed with 41mm telescopic forks at front . The rear suspension is the preload adjustable mono-shock setup. Braking is good and it is don by dual semi-floating, petal disc brakes at front. Brakes fitted at rear are single 220mm petal disc brakes for additional safety.
Kawasaki ER 6n Price in India: Rs. 4,78,000/- [Ex-showroom, Delhi ]
The bike will arrive in India via CKD route from Kawasaki’s Thailand facility as in case of Ninja 650. So high pricing is the main downside point for this big bike. Avoiding all the fairing and additional cosmetics up gradation in naked version, hope the bike will be cheaper than the Ninja 650 by around Rs 30 to 40,000.
